about
Finding love for each other in the softer moments, Garage Sale is built for the honest and earnest.
‘Movie’ is a song with a long history, having been a staple closing track for the band for a number of years. Inspiring cult-like headbanging in DIY spaces, its portrayal of fuzzed out guitars, contrasting dynamics and diary-esq lyrics are a staple to what fans adore about Garage Sale.
The track is the first single from the band’s upcoming EP, ‘Stars Fall 2’ releasing on the band’s self-run label ‘Sore Horse’ in May. It’s a peek through the looking glass following the success of their debut album ‘Shimmer’, and stand-alone single ‘Blank Again’. Engineered by Alex O'Gorman, produced and mixed by Hamish Mitchell (Armlock), and mastered by Corey Coffman (Gleemer) - the release is a carefully considered portrait of fragile moments, marked down in bold strokes and long strides.
lyrics
Thinking back to the time when my life was just me
(I was a crying child, feeling empty when I’m held)
I was over what was going on and I was incomplete
(Curtains closed on your dreams, shut off to feeling)
I used to feel the angels watch me
It made me feel like I was in a movie
A movie
I'm ashamed of staying in but it's been raining lately
(Looking through the window, like a stranger to the world)
I'm afraid I'll finally break, but I know I'm not insane
(Can you see me reaching through the screen?)
A movie
(Reaching through the screen)
A movie
(Can you see me)
A movie
(Reaching through the screen)
A movie
